Beginner's Cyanotype Workshop (2)

Beginner's Cyanotype Workshop (2)

Join Ian and Michelle Hutton in an introduction to cyanotype, an alternative photographic process developed in 1842. Images are created by blocking the sunlight from developing a treated light-sensitised material and the result is beautiful blue and white art. The material could be paper or fabric.

After a quick introduction to the history of cyanotype and how the prints are created, you will be shown how to safely mix and coat paper and fabric and then expose your design to ultraviolet light to produce the blue and white coloured image.

You will learn all aspects of the process including making photograms from botanicals as well as using feathers, lace and stencils.

Morning tea will be provided but please bring your own lunch.

Bring your creativity and a warm smile as you discover this magical process!

All materials supplied.
