Queensland’s new Challenge:
Queensland Branch’s new challenge Cabinet of Curiosities was announced at the September meetings, and is to be delivered at the December meetings.
Cabinets of curiosities, also known as wonder-rooms, emerged in the sixteenth century as collections of unusual objects to marvel at.
Members are asked to create a small curiosity to fit within the space of a cube 12.5cm x 12.5cm x 12.5cm. Use your imaginations to create something weird, wild, wacky, woolly or wonderful, either 2D or 3D.
Possibilities:
- wild and wonderful creatures and objects from the depth of the oceans
- hybrid botanicals, morphing into odd varieties
- steam punk with metal attachments
- strange objects serving weird purposes
- scientific tools and jars with specimens intact (or not)
