Join Mandy and discover the facinating world of Joomchi and come away with your own decorated papers to use in your artwork.

Joomchi is an ancient Korean technique for felting hanji paper (Korean paper made from mulberry bark). The resulting paper is like fabric, strong and soft. Traditionally used for containers, bags and even clothing, joomchi-worked paper can be used for artworks, hangings, lampshades, book covers and sculptures.

Join this 1 day workshop to discover the possibilities of embroidered flowers. Karen will take you on a journey discovering embroidery stitches, and combining fabric with embroidery, in the process you will create your own beautiful floral work.

Karen will have a selection of her designs for you to use.  The substrate is your choice, you can stitch directly on a piece of clothing or create pieces to be used in your own artwork. Applique, bag construction, framed, the choice is yours. Bring along a linen blouse, pieces of linen or even a denim jacket to stitch on and make your own.
